Craigslist ad posting tips. Follow this simple advice and you will have no worries
If you are having problems posting ads on Craigslist then take a second and read this article, perhaps it may help you.
If you have more than one craigslist account that you’re posting ads to then it’s very important that you use a land line dial-up connection with a dial-up Internet Service Provider when you do it.
Craigslist monitors IP addresses of each account. You WILL need different IP addresses if you have more than one CL account, that is if you expect to keep them open and not have them shut down permanently.
If you have a Cable Internet or DSL Internet based telephone service then you have what’s called a static IP address. What this means is that you have one IP address so when you are placing ads through multiple Craigslist accounts their computer picks up your IP address and knows right away that it is the same person placing the ads. This is not good and it could cost you all of your accounts and your ads, not to mention your time.
By using a dial-up Internet service, every time you redial you get a different IP address. Please note: Most dial up modems will be damaged if you connect them to one of these Internet-based phone services.
You NEED a land line connection and a solid dial-up Internet service provider that has good amount of dial up numbers.
When choosing a dial-up Internet service provider you want to avoid companies that use proprietary software like AOL, Net Zero ect. You need a basic Internet service provider with no bells and whistles. You need to find a company that has a lot of dial up numbers in the USA and Canada if you are posting there, preferably one that is inexpensive.
Many of the dial up number networks are old so you’ll have to test each number out. Don’t always go by the displayed speed of the connection, try to surf around a little bit and see if you get disconnected often or if it’s surfing really slow. Once you find a good connection number make note of it so you don’t have to keep searching different numbers each time you want a dial out. Try to use an area code that is in the area where you are posting your ads if possible.

Another posting tip that is very important. NEVER jump around from state to state posting ads. For example; don’t post one ad in Maine, one in Nebraska, one in Chicago, one in New York, one in Dallas and one in Phoenix. If you do this Craigslist will think you’re a spammer and all of your ads will be removed and not just the ones you did today either, all of your ads that you have active in that account will be removed also. You will end up losing everything and have to start all over again. So DON’T make that mistake!
Your account may also be red flagged and they will limit your ads sometimes to only one per day. They do this by ghosting out your ads. Your ads will appear to be live in your account control panel yet will not go live on the site. This is called ad ghosting. I always post 2 ads first then wait to see if they appear on CL before posting anymore so I don’t lose my work to ghosting.

I went to log into my Craigslist account on October 24, 2009 and went to place an ad and it asked me to phone verify my account. I know the account is already verified so why are they asking me to do it again? There can be only one answer to that question. These are tough new measures to crack down on people who buy and sell Craigslist phone verified accounts.
Craigslist knows that if you buy your phone verified accounts then you don’t know the phone number that was used to verify them. This basically renders the phone verified account useless but you will still be able to receive your e-mail through it and hopefully make a few more sales.
I hate to be the one to say it but if you make are living off of Craigslist then you are in for some tough times ahead. Last year when they first started asking people to phone verify their accounts I knew that this was just the beginning of a much larger spam control measure. I started a while back looking for other avenues to make money. I like affiliate marketing because you don’t need to own any products or spend any money on advertising. If you do it right it’s completely free, 100% pure profit!
If you’ve never heard about article marketing then this is a great way to make money. I look at article marketing as having my own sales force out there working for me 24/7, 365 days a year. Think of an article as a salesperson, if you’re new to writing articles then you are not going to be as convincing as someone who has been writing them for months or a year so. You won’t produce as much income for yourself, but once you start to get the hang of it, become confident and make those first few sales then you will realize what you did right to make those sales and then you’re on your way to the big $$$$.
It only takes one good niche to make money hand over fist. Don’t try to write articles about everything under the sun either, do your research and more research and more research and then begin.
Remember this, a general practitioner MD goes to school for the same amount of time as a brain surgeon, but because a brain surgeon is a specialist they earn much more money than any general practitioner ever could. Never forget this and you will make cash and lots of it. Become a specialist!
You might laugh in disbelief but many article marketers after less than a year can earn upwards of $1000 a day, 365 days a year. Can you live on $1000 a day?
When I first started writing articles my first ones really didn’t make any money because I wasn’t doing the research needed to find out what people really wanted. I was trying to give them what I thought they wanted. That’s the biggest mistake that anybody can make in article marketing. If there’s no audience for your product then you can’t make any sales.
The best way to find out what people are looking for is to pick a topic that you like( it is important to pick a topic you like because you are going to write about it like crazy) and then do a search on Google. At the top of the Google search page click on the link that says “show options” and then choose the forum link on the left. Forums are the gateway to your research. Once you find out what people want or need then you can go out on the Internet and try to find affiliate products that you can market to them. Make notes of everything you read in the forum and get to work.
Once you get good at article marketing then you will be amazed at the steady stream of cash that they will send to your bank account. Let’s say every article makes you one dollar a month and some make much more. If you write a hundred articles a month then you will make $100 the first month and the next month you write another hundred articles. Now you’re making $200 a month and so on. If you do this for a year then those dollars can really add up. Some articles may earn you thousands per month or better yet thousands per day! Each article is your salesperson and if you have 5000 articles online then you have 5000 salespeople working for you. Remember this, articles live online forever! Articles don’t cost anything, articles will keep selling for you if you choose a topic that is long term and is not a fad or something for the short haul. Think long term on 75% of your marketing and short term on 25% and you will be perfectly positioned to stuff your mattress with lots of cash.
One other thing about article marketing that is the most important of all. Your article should in no way sound like “sales pitch”. Many article websites will reject them right away if your articles sound too much like sales copy and the reader will know it’s a pitch also.
If you want to have someone write your articles for you then that is another avenue for you to explore. I have people who write for me on certain subjects and I only pay $4 per article. If you have some money to spare then this might be a good way to started.
If your grammar sucks and you are not a good writer then that is fine. Write an article the best you can and then for a couple of bucks have an article writer rewrite it for you. Article writers love rewrites because they don’t have to do research and the article will reflect what you are trying to say , not what they think you want them say or write in the articles.
A good article writer can take one article you wrote and spin it off into 5 or 6 similar articles in no time at all.

Craigslist Phone Verification Changes October 2009 WordWide Crisis
Craigslist seems to have put some armor around itself and this is the toughest stance to date it has taken against and scammers. It’s just unfortunate that so many innocent people who use that website are being banned at the same time.
Craigslist could care less about the people who make a living on there. From what I have heard Craigslist pulls in a cool $1 million a day! The money is made on adult ads and help wanted ads.
If Craigslist was smart they would offer monthly subscriptions to post ads for businesses and people who make a living on there and offer it for free to the average Joe who only posts once in a while. I would gladly pay Craigslist $250 a month for a monthly subscription to post ads on Craigslist.
If Craig really wanted to help the world he could raise a Billion Dollars a year charging subscriptions to businesses to place ads and then give it to charity. I have heard Craig moves slow so maybe once he realizes how many innocent peoples lives he has devastated with these new changes he might come up with a compromise. I think a subscription is the way to go. Most spammers won’t pay to spam so they will leave Craigslist alone.
Perhaps all the people who lost their living with the recent changes should pack up and head over to Craigs house and pitch a tent city on his lawn. That might show him how much devastation he has caused us.
I would like to offer up Backpage as an alternative. I know that for right now it doesn’t get the traffic that Craigslist does but the more people who use it the higher rating it gets on Google. I have found that Backpage ads when SEO’d properly can get first and second page organic search results on Google. Choose your title carefully when placing your Backpage ads so you can get some good natural organic click traffic.
I am very fortunate enough to have found better ways to market my products online, most of the are free.
